Lasers emit high-intensity light which can be used to heat blood vessels selectively. A variety of machines can be used, but their efficacy and side effects will vary depending on the individual. Lasers have the advantage of being able to target the blood vessel while abandoning the surrounding tissue unharmed. As a result, scarring is incredibly unlikely the majority of treatments are carried out by laser surgery specialists or the technologists they supervise.

In laser vascular lesion treatment, there are many variations on a “typical session,” and what happens during the session is defined by the technology have been using. If the diagnosis is painful, a numbing cream may be applied for 30–90 minutes before then.

The patient will lie down on an exam bed before the diagnosis, and the region will be rinsed to remove any makeup. After this process, it is critical to apply a light sunblock and avoid exposure to the sun. Avoid rubbing or picking at the skin. Cold condenses can help with swelling and redness. Sleeping with one’s head elevated enables swelling in the head to drain.
