Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck is a medical procedure used to enhance the texture of the stomach. Extra skin and fat from the stomach are erased during a tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty. Sutures are also commonly used to tighten soft tissue in the abdomen (fascia). The remaining skin is then reconfigured for a more toned appearance.

A tummy tuck can eliminate extra skin and fat as well as tighten a weak roofline. Stretch marks and stretched skin in the abdominal area below the belly button can also be removed with a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck, on the other hand, will not correct stretch marks that are not in this region. If you’ve had a C-section in the past, our surgeon may be able to utilize your extant C scar into your tummy tuck bruise. A tummy tuck can be combined with other body shading cosmetic procedures, such as breast surgery.

If you’ve had fat erased from your abdomen (liposuction), you may want to consider having a tummy tuck because liposuction eliminates tissue just beneath the skin and fat but not extra skin. Tummy tuck surgery is performed in a hospital or a known medical facility. During a tummy tuck, you will be put under general anesthesia, which will render you completely lost consciousness and incapable of feeling pain. In some cases, you may be given a pain reliever and mildly sedated (partially asleep).
